The Best Yoga Pants Ever Made? Yoga Without Underwear

by Matt CaronOctober 31, 2014

I’m certainly no expert in the yoga-pant industry, but I can definitely tell when an idea is innovative.

And this is definitely innovative.

Dear Kate has completed a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for her project to create underwearless yoga pants.

That’s right: yoga commando style.

Dear Kate founder Julie Sygiel claims to have solved every woman’s annoying relationship with yoga pants by removing the need to wear underwear.

Their completed Kickstarter raised WAY beyond their goal of $15,000- in fact, it actually raised $158,933!

The reason for the yoga pants?

We’ll let Sygiel explain:

At Dear Kate, we’ve engineered a new type of yoga pant that means you’ll never again find your undies in a bunch at the end of a workout. Incorporating a small inset of our patent-pending Underlux fabric, these pants have your back if you decide to “go commando.” Imagine the freedom of no more VPL (visible panty lines), no bunching or riding up, and no stress over winging it without underwear.

Cool idea, right?

What do you think?

I always go commando and so do most people I know so I don’t need that little strip so….

  • Jane

I don’t wear underwear with yoga pants now. No need for a special pant, those triangle gussets work just fine

I actually love this idea. I’ve gone commando once during yoga (I just forgot to do the laundry) and there were certain moments where I would have loved a more ‘anti-cameltoe’ situation. Not that there is anything wrong with a little ride-up. But for me it’s a matter of comfort.
